So I finally made the plunge today and purchased an iPhone. I have to say that I’m more impressed now that I have one. Passingly playing with someone else’s iPhone never really gave me an idea of what it was really like to use one. I’m half way through my first day and I have to say that I’m a happy camper. There are a few things that I’m impressed about:
- The UI is easy to use. The simple subtleties of deleting, scrolling, and the zoom features are very nice.
- The Edge network, while using Google Maps, is not as slow as it seemed on my Cingular Blackberry Curve (also Edge).
- Typing on the phone is a lot easier than expected.
I suppose the cool thing above all of this, is that my fiancée is totally diggin’ the iPhone. She might actually trade her Blackjack in for an iPhone! At first glance she didn’t like it. She had some difficulties using the touch screen interface. We felt that it was mostly due to the fact that she had long nails. Well about 15 minutes ago she locked herself in the bathroom. A few minutes later she came out and said “alright let me see your iPhone!” I looked at her hands and she had cut off all her nails! Well lets just say that she’s a happy camper and is now toying around on my iPhone while I’m typing away on my laptop. But on the brighter side, she made taco’s tonight! and is now baking some cookies!
