Canceling CIC Triple Advantage: Get Your Money Back and Get Justice!

I recently had to cancel a recurring transaction that popped up on my bank account. I wanted to make sure that it stopped and that I could get my money back. I found this great article that helped me out:Canceling CIC Triple Advantage: Get Your Money Back and Get Justice!

I have to say that the steps worked out like a charm. I was being charged for 3 months by CIC*Tripple Advantage (ie. Free Credit Report.com). I kepted being persistent but polite and was able to get a full refund.

Microsoft's Surface Table in San Antonio AT&T Stores

Being a native San Antonian, I’m happy to hear that the AT&T stores in my home town will be one of the 4 cities to carry Microsoft’s Surface Table. Luckily I live in San Francisco which happens to be on the list along with NYC and Atlanta.

iPhone and my lady!

So I finally made the plunge today and purchased an iPhone. I have to say that I’m more impressed now that I have one. Passingly playing with someone else’s iPhone never really gave me an idea of what it was really like to use one. I’m half way through my first day and I have to say that I’m a happy camper. There are a few things that I’m impressed about:

  • The UI is easy to use. The simple subtleties of deleting, scrolling, and the zoom features are very nice.
  • The Edge network, while using Google Maps, is not as slow as it seemed on my Cingular Blackberry Curve (also Edge).
  • Typing on the phone is a lot easier than expected.

I suppose the cool thing above all of this, is that my fiancée is totally diggin’ the iPhone. She might actually trade her Blackjack in for an iPhone! At first glance she didn’t like it. She had some difficulties using the touch screen interface. We felt that it was mostly due to the fact that she had long nails. Well about 15 minutes ago she locked herself in the bathroom. A few minutes later she came out and said “alright let me see your iPhone!” I looked at her hands and she had cut off all her nails! Well lets just say that she’s a happy camper and is now toying around on my iPhone while I’m typing away on my laptop. But on the brighter side, she made taco’s tonight! and is now baking some cookies!

Bad Ass!

Two great things happened today!

Last month I quit my job at Crispin Porter + Bugusky and moved to San Francisco to be with my fiance. As of July 2nd I’ve been working on contract with Truveo (owned by AOL) developing Flash widgets. But today two great things happened to me.

The first is that we found a new place to live and it’s a pretty sweet spot in SOMA near the financial district. I just picked up the keys a few minutes ago and signed the lease!

The second is that I accepted a job offer from McCann Worldgroup SF. I’m very excited about all of this! This is the beginning of great times for Mari and I.

  • I found work as a lead Multimedia Developer for Karta Technologies in their Training Solutions division, where I lead Flash and HTML courseware development and did on-site consulting and documentation for clients.
