Remove shared folders from Parallels

This post will show you how to remove or edit shared folders from Parallels

Getting Started

  1. Start up Parallels, but do not boot into the OS. Meaning your VM is stopped.
  2. On your Parallels menu select > Edit > Virtual Machine…
  3. On the left, select “Shared Folders” (it’s the 3rd option down from the top)
  4. On the right you will see a list of shared folders

Removing a Shared Folder

  1. Select the shared folder you would like to remove
  2. Click on the button with the “-” minus to remove the folder

Editing a Shared Folder

  1. Select the shared folder you would like to edit
  2. Click on the button with “…” 3 elipses
  3. You’ll now see the same window you used to add your shared folder
  4. Make the appropriate changes to the Name, Path, Description, Read Only, and Enabled options
  5. Click OK to complete
